Pasta Andrea
1718 St. Joseph Blvd.

Open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Licensed. Accepts major credit cards. 634-3400.
This trattoria offers an uncluttered, charming view of the Lachine waterfront. The menu is simple—a few appetizers, a few oven dishes, a few veal dishes, one shrimp dish, a few pizzas and assorted string pastas with a choice of a dozen or so sauces. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the cooking is honest and earthy.

Prices are reasonable, even for the wines. It's the perfect place to wander in for a half a bottle of wine or a pasta or both. You can mix and match your pasta and sauces. A matriciana sauce sampled made as robust a statement with its tomato, capicole and mushrooms as the lusty putanesca did with its tomato, capers, black olives and anchovies.
