One of those perfect little neighbourhood restaurants. As its name indicates, the place specializes in Cajun and (creole cooking and does it extremely well. There is an evening table d'hôte ranging from about $12.95 to $18.95 that includes everything. Don't miss the seafood and corn chowder, worth a visit all on its own.
Even the table d'hôte house salad with pecans, walnuts and poppyseed dressing was outstanding. Main dishes (portions are huge, by the way) included exceptional Bourbon Street shrimp with jambalaya rice, charcoalbroiled baby back ribs that were incredibly tender and meaty, and "bronzed" (as opposed to blackened) chicken breast that was tender, juicy and quite spicy. The spiced french fries are famous. Don't miss the Bananas Foster for dessert.
