Modigliani reproductions and a playful name add a touch of whimsy to this graciously appointed town house restaurant. A handsome menu and attentive servers made for a pleasant evening. An appetizer of arancini—crisply fried, breaded balls of creamy risotto and mozzarella moated by a thick, garlic-and basil-rich tomato sauce—made a good start.
A dish that sang was a molded risotto ringed by six large scallops in a sauce of tomato, cream and cognac. The menu also featured osso buco and a range of traditional pastas. Homemade tartufo was light and a treat.
