These tunes were done in Oakland, California, roughly between 1982 and 84. At the time I was going to art school two minutes' walk from my home.

Most of these tunes were written with my then-songwriting partner, Scott Fleming, who usually (but not always) wrote most of the music. I would write the lyrics and do the arranging. But sometimes, it went the other way.

Whatever happened, I ended up recording it ion my home studio, which at the time consisted of a Teac A-3340, some cheap mixer and a few effects, like reverb.

Scott played most of the keyboards and I played everything else except the drums, which were taken off a drum track record.
